The Following Rules Will Be Implemented at the Middle Island Dog Park...

--The use of the park will be at your own risk-owners are legally and financially responsible for any injuries or damages caused by their dogs

--No intact males, nor unspayed females allowed

--No children under 12 allowed in off leash area

--Dog waste MUST be cleaned up by dog owners and placed in proper receptacles

--Aggressive dogs are prohibited, and will be removed at first sign of aggression (this rule will be strictly enforced)

--Pups under 4 months prohibited

--There is a 2 dog limit per visit per owner (this is done to ensure proper vigilance on the part of the owner)

--Dogs are to be supervised at all times, under sight and voice control

--No "choke" or prong collars allowed inside of the park

--Pooch pass tag must be worn by the dog, and must be visible

--NO FOOD ALLOWED WITHIN CONFINES (human or pup) and alcoholic beverages are prohibited

--Dogs must be leashed upon entering and exiting the park, and owners must possess a leash at all times

--Dogs outside off leash area MUST be leashed

--Excessive barking will not be tolerated, and dogs barking continuously will be removed

---Effective May 20, 2008- signed into law, incorporated into town code- NO TOYS OF ANY TYPE ALLOWED IN PARK

---Size limits: 30 lbs and under must use small dog area, 30 lbs and over must use large dog area- strictly enforced for your safety

Suffolk County Unleashed will have a volunteer park stewardship plan in place at the park. Please realize these rules are to ensure a safe and fun excursion for you and your pet at Middle Island.
